This design features the Aérospatiale Puma, the legendary transport helicopter that paved the way for the development of the Oryx. Known for its power and rugged reliability, the Puma was the primary mover for airborne troops during South Africa’s most challenging military eras. It was the face of tactical troop insertions and helped define the air-mobile doctrine of the SAAF. Its twin-engine safety and large cabin made it an icon of the 1970s and 80s flight lines. It remains a classic silhouette of world military history. The Puma Cap features a bold design of the airframe on the front panel, with the SAAF insignia and motto on the side and back panels.
